This flyer design for Aaron Copland’s Rodeo performance captures the vibrant energy and movement of both the orchestral composition and its ballet counterpart. Drawing inspiration from the American flag, bold western-type fonts, and the lively spirit of farm life, the design is created entirely from type, with the exception of the diagonal lines. Through experimenting with typefaces, color variations, and opacities, the poster exudes a vibrant yet elegant tone that reflects the composition’s lively pace and underlying grace. The final result is a visually compelling piece that mirrors the excitement and beauty of Rodeo.
