Fantasy Map

Inspired by the rich, detailed maps found in fantasy literature, this illustration-based project brings to life a vibrant, fictional world full of nature, mystery, and adventure. The goal was to create a world that feels alive and captivating, with a color scheme that is both vibrant and unified. A key challenge was balancing the intensity of the foreground with the visibility of the map itself. Through experimenting with blending and palette choices, a sense of harmony was achieved that allows the eye to move comfortably through the piece. Careful placement and styling of text ensured readability and clarity even within a visually complex background. The project emphasizes the importance of small design decisions, such as using foreground elements to subtly guide the viewer’s eye diagonally toward the title and positioning the first location on the map nearby to establish a clear visual path. The final result is an immersive, illustrated map that combines clarity, imagination, and storytelling through thoughtful design.
